Using a sledgehammer, the artist sets about destroying Michelangelo’s sculpture of Moses, and in doing so, attacks both a founding figure of monotheism and the Renaissance master. Whether the patriarchy or the Church, she does her utmost to annihilate a symbol at the crossroads of several dominant ideologies.
